Chhapaak review- chhapaak is the movie based on the real-life story of Laxmi Agarwal, who is the acid attack survivor and her struggle. She now becomes an inspiration for many people. The lead character played by Deepika Padukone as malti, who was attacked by a family friend Bashir khan (babbu) in the street of Delhi. How her life changed and how she fight and overcome this incident is a story all about. Deepika Padukone is the soul of the film with her brilliant and immersive performance.
The story is started with malti, who is 19 years old and hunt for the job, suddenly after the acid attack her life changed, she has gone through by numerous complicated surgery. The scene where she first saw her face after an attack will tear in your eyes. But she is not ready to sit silently and accept whatever happens to her, she decides to fight against her criminals and for all of them who are suffering like her. It is her lawyer Archana ( Madhurjeet Sarghi) who stands by her throughout her journey. From Malti's PIL to ban the sale of acid to amendments in the acid violence legislation, her team of women lawyer, take on the system. The other main support comes to her from Amol ( Vikrant Massey), who gives the job to her to work for his NGO. Both Vikrant Massey and madhurjeet Sarghi did a commendable performance.
This movie is undoubtedly a brave attempt, did full justice with the real story. Chhapaak is a sensitive film, dedicated to the heinous crime against women. Music is always very good and touchy, Meghna Gulzar has proved once again as a versatile director, dialogues, screenplay, and visual appeal is just up to the mark.
